How to Improve Recruitment Strategy

Recruitment process strategy is a plan that will be carried out to find the best candidate for a certain position in your company. In the plan, it must be determined which candidate will be selected, the reasons for searching for candidates, and determine how to recruit. In order to improve the recruitment process, here are some ways you can do it.

1. Understand the company's needs

The recruitment process starts from before the opening of job vacancies. Recruiters or hiring managers often have difficulty determining the ideal candidate. This is possible because recruitment often focuses on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. Although necessary, these two things are not enough to know which candidate is suitable.

To fix this, you can look at the candidate's achievements in the first 3-6 months and one year ahead. After that, make expectations that the candidate will achieve when working. To achieve common goals, skills and effort must be maximized. Methods like this will help bring clarity to everyone.

2. Make a plan

A recruiter needs to do an assessment of each candidate. Therefore, before conducting the interview process for each position. You must know the criteria needed by the company so that the assessment will be clear.

For example, you might want to know if a candidate is comfortable with the hours the company is applying for and the position they are applying for. To find out this, you can guide the candidate to understand the candidate's priorities and understanding of work-life balance.

3. Responsive to candidates

Recruitment can be a tedious process. Not only for candidates, but also recruiters. Therefore, you are advised to maintain communication with potential candidates. Though simple, small actions like these can help build a candidate's trust in the company.

5. Identify the problem and find a solution

The recruitment process is not without problems. There are several problems that you may encounter in the recruitment process. Starting from no progress, bias, inefficient process, and lack of focus. These problems can take a lot of time, effort, and money.

Therefore, you must minimize errors. You should always be aware of any problems and proactively try to find solutions. That way, the problem will disappear and your work will not be hampered and will run smoothly.

6. Keep communication

If the recruitment process goes well, it means you will have some great candidates ready to be selected. While this is good, it can be quite difficult in practice, especially for candidates who were not shortlisted for the position sought at the time.

When rejecting some candidates, recruiters can continue to communicate with them. If they enjoy the recruiting process, they may be more likely to open up to your offers in the future. They may even recommend your company to colleagues and friends.

Taking the time to follow these steps can lead you to create a strong recruitment process strategy. That way, you've ensured that the team will be focused on company policies, priorities, and needs.
