Facing uncertainty and accepting change while working are important skills in the world of work. The reason is, there will always be changes that inevitably have to be faced. Here are some ways to deal with uncertainty and embrace change gracefully.

How to deal with uncertainty and accept change

Have you ever asked yourself and other employees about change and uncertainty at work? Are you and they really ready? Does not seem.

Based on Gallup research, at least 15% of US employees agree that organizational leadership makes them enthusiastic about the future. Although companies want employees who are ready and willing to adapt to change.

You can use one of these seven methods so that your team can be more solid in facing uncertainty and change in the world of work.

1. Make sure employees understand their capabilities

It is important for employees not to focus on one trait or ability within themselves. Each person has different characteristics that can be used in various situations.

For example, someone with a highly competitive and dominant nature may think they just want to win, but the reality is more complex than that.

They may be able to engage and engage coworkers because of their ability to take charge, speak up, and make sure others are heard. Both of these traits are especially powerful when things get a little heated at work.

Employees who have this attitude will likely be more confident in their worth and abilities, and able to contribute under any circumstances.

2. Help employees develop themselves

In facing change and uncertainty at work, employees must be able to develop themselves and their potential.

Employees need to be aware of their capabilities and where they have room for growth. They need to realize that their abilities can contribute to success.

When employees are confused about developing themselves, you can ask questions that help them. For example, a place where you can see the abilities you have and apply them in everyday life?

Think about the success that can be achieved with the abilities and talents you have. You can also take advantage of your strengths which can be further developed for a good career in the future.

Improving employees' abilities and talents will help them to better understand and be able to face the rapidly changing world of work. Employees who understand their own abilities will be more able and ready to face change and uncertainty in an organization.

3. Learn to adapt

Make an effort to understand the changes. What will change? How will it affect your work? By understanding the changes, you can plan actions accordingly.

This adaptation can be done by improving good communication skills with your team. Being open in communication can help reduce uncertainty and ensure that all parties have the same understanding of upcoming changes.

4. Focus on what you can control

Change and uncertainty are things that are beyond your control as a manager, so focus on your attitude in dealing with them.

Identify the elements in the situation that you can control, and focus on those. Don't think too much about things that are out of your control, because that will only add to stress.

Invite colleagues to talk about the changes, how they feel, complaints, and wishes for the future.

5. Use strategies based on personal abilities

Dealing with uncertainty is challenging, but with strengths-based strategies, your employees can avoid excessive stress.

Have employees explore coping strategies based on their talents and abilities . This method can provide good results for them and others.

Consider the strategy of having employees lead teams as a new initiative. Sometimes employees are not aware of their abilities, but good leaders are very sensitive to their employees' abilities.

Changes in the world of work are inevitable, so team leaders must be able to deal with them well so that employees continue to have trust in you.
